Conference USA Football All-Name Team: Let's hear it for Blaze, Jaegar and Wolfgang
Even though the majority of Conference USA teams will be competing against non-league opponents this week, Southern Miss is not one of them.
The Golden Eagles host North Texas at 6 p.m. Saturday at M.M. Roberts Stadium (no TV). Jay Hopson’s team has not faced a C-USA foe yet, while the Mean Green are 1-0 after beating UAB last week.
But for the purposes of this list, that’s neither here nor there.

What we’re here to do today is shed a little light on a few of C-USA’s less familiar — but no less phenomenal — names. By now, we know about the likes of Jeffery Wilson (running back, North Texas), Richie James (receiver, Middle Tennessee), Mike White (quarterback, Western Kentucky) and Jonathan Barnes (kicker, Louisiana Tech).
Great players, sure. But none will find themselves here. No, this list is reserved for those players on C-USA team rosters with slightly more talent in the name department.
