Three men have been arrested and charged with three felonies, including murder, in connection with the Sunday morning shooting in Hattiesburg that left one dead and another wounded.

Jarvis Holder, 27, of Lumberton, and Timothy Jordan, 25, and James Clark, 19, both of Hattiesburg, remain in Forrest County Jail.

Holder was arrested Tuesday morning by Hattiesburg police and Lamar County deputies, HPD spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said.

Clark turned himself in Wednesday morning and Jordan was arrested Wednesday.

All three have been charged with one count each of murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery in the incident at 106 Foxfire Drive in Hattiesburg where police found 32-year-old Matthew Campbell of Hattiesburg wounded inside an apartment.

Campbell was transported to a local hospital, but died a few hours later. Forrest County deputy coroner Lisa Klem said Campbell died from a single gunshot to the head

HPD said a second man also was shot and wounded, but managed to drive himself to a local hospital.

Municipal Court Judge Jerry Evans remanded Holder to custody Wednesday afternoon during his first appearance. Evans said he would not set bond on the murder charge until all suspects involved had been charged and made first appearances.

Clark and Jordan are expected to make first appearances Friday morning.

Evans set Holder's bond at $50,000 on each of the aggravated assault and armed robbery charges. He also was charged with violating parole relating to a suspended sentence issued in Lamar County.

Campbell's death marked Hattiesburg's second shooting homicide in a three-week period.

Ray Allen Thompson was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 38-year-old Oliver Griffin about 6 p.m. April 27 at Pinehaven Apartments at 571 Helveston Road.

Klem said an autopsy determined Griffin had died from a single gunshot wound to the left chest. Griffin had been pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson, who was working as a courtesy officer at Pinehaven, had responded to a domestic dispute that involved Griffin. The incident wound up in the parking lot, where Griffin was shot.

Soon after Hattiesburg police arrived, Thompson was identified as the shooter and was taken into custody. After questioning by HPD investigators, he was charged with murder.
