Four suspects charged in fatal nightclub shooting

Four men have been charged in connection to an early-morning shooting at a Hattiesburg nightclub that left one man dead.

Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said Jimmie Lee Magee, 30, of Prentiss, has been charged with murder. Samuel Walker, 23, of Prentiss; Jimarcus Burton, 27, of Prentiss; and Romelvin Barnes Jr., 22, of New Hebron have been charged with accessory after the fact. Barnes also was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

All four suspects were booked into the Forrest County Jail on Sunday.

Three handguns were recovered during the incident, Traxler said.

The shooting was reported around 2:10 a.m. Sunday at Club Memories, 1720 N. 31st Ave.

Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the victim as Kenneth Smith, 36, of Purvis.

Smith was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
